Urgent call for watering & volunteers & work day Saturday

From our gardener, Laurie McLeod:

The landscaped areas have been hydroseeded today (May 17) and we are in urgent need of sprinkers, hoses and people to sign up for watering! If you can help with either, please contact Laurie at lmacleod AT umn.edu. Also, please explain the type of sprinkler you have to loan -e.g., ‘fan type/rectangle pattern’, ‘impact type/circular pattern’, so we can plan out the sprinkler coverage.

The new lawn needs to be watered 3 times daily for 15 minutes each for 10 days – then once a day for at least 2 weeks. If you have time to volunteer, let me know what hours might work for you.

Hoses and/or sprinklers can be dropped off in the next few days on the workbench downstairs (first left at the bottom of the stairs) or outside the shed, if CG isn’t open. Please be sure to mark whatever you drop off, so we know who to return it to.

Work Day May 22
We are planning an outdoor workday this Saturday, May 22. There’s something for everyone!! Digging, weeding, sweeping, watering, rock laying, pounding in stakes, planting in our planters, mowing, maybe even shed moving.

It will feel good to have our site looking spruced up for the Monthly Dharma talk that night by Mingyur Rinpoche, even though it will still be “under construction”.

We will start at 9 am and work until probably mid-afternoon or till we run out of projects. Feel free to let me know if you can make it (lmacleod AT umn.edu), or just show up on Saturday. We’ll probably send out an email to respondents on Friday letting them know if we need tools too.
With gratitude,
Laurie MacLeod
